Lodge "Libellule bleue"
Sustainability at the Heart of Your Stay
At Écolodges du lac des Libellules, sustainable development is a founding pillar of our project. Our two floating lodges were designed to be fully self-sufficient, minimizing their environmental footprint while ensuring comfort and safety. Electricity is supplied exclusively by solar energy. We have chosen a high-capacity storage system (15 kW) with a power output of 3 kW. For example, this system can fully and autonomously power a 1.8 kW mobile air-conditioning unit during summer when needed, combining comfort with eco-responsibility.
Running water is drawn directly from the lake, which is fed by underground cold-water springs. Before being distributed inside the lodges for showers, toilets, and daily use, the water is carefully filtered and sterilized.
Wastewater and organic waste are then treated through an Aquatéris phytoremediation barge. This system, known as a “natural treatment garden,” is officially approved by the French Ministry for Ecological Transition. Thanks to the combined action of plants and microorganisms, the treated water is cleared of domestic pollutants and deemed suitable for return to the natural environment. This solution allows us to offer conventional toilets rather than dry toilets. We exclusively provide certified organic, eco-friendly household products. Bottled mineral water is also supplied for the duration of the stay.
For winter heating, we have installed pellet stoves. The ecolodges were built in Aveyron by the company Carré de Vie, using wood sourced from sustainably managed French forests and bio-based insulation made from sheep’s wool produced by the Colbert mill in Aveyron.
Each stay thus becomes a concrete demonstration of sustainable and eco-responsible tourism, offering full immersion in a preserved natural environment.
